Leadership of Harbor Church
Harbor Church is led by a plurality of elders, both paid and volunteer, who pour out their lives in love and service to God and to our church family. These men oversee the life and ministries of Harbor Church, shepherd the flock, equip the saints for the works of ministry, and preach the Word so that we grow in greater vibrancy with Christ.
Cean Williard | Lead Pastor
As the Lead Pastor of Harbor Church, Cean oversees the vision, culture, mission and health of Harbor Church. He and his family have been a part of Harbor since before its founding. Prior to joining the staff, Cean was the Operations Manager at Cascades Camp and Conference Center in Yelm, WA. In 2018, he stepped into the role of Executive Pastor at Harbor Church and served in that capacity until responding to God’s call to become the lead pastor in 2023. Cean earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Portland and both a Master of Applied Biblical Leadership and a Master of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies from Western Seminary. He and his wife Ashley have been happily married since 2010. They have two daughters and two golden retrievers.
Jonathan Flores | Discipleship Pastor
As Discipleship Pastor, Jonathan cultivates a culture of discipleship by creating a pathway of discipleship from birth into adulthood who brings a relational, family-oriented approach to ministry and equipping the body of Christ. He earned a BA in Biblical Counseling from The Master’s College, is currently pursuing an MA in Biblical Counseling from Bob Jones University, and is passionate about helping others grow in their love for God and one another. Jonathan is married to Amanda and together they have four children. Prior to coming on staff Jonathan spent 13 years as a locomotive engineer while his wife set aside her nursing career for the high calling of raising and homeschooling their children.
Steve Thompson | Lay Elder
Steve recently retired from the Pastoral staff at Harbor Church in January 2025, and now serves as one of our Lay Elders. He received his BA from Los Angeles Baptist College and has a Counseling Certificate from the Christian Counseling and Education Foundation (CCEF). Steve was ordained in 2015 through his Church in Aurora, Colorado where he served as a Lay Pastor for several years. He’s been married to Robin for 44 years and moved to the Olympia area in 2017. They have three grown children and six grandchildren.
JR Harkness | Lay Elder
JR joined the elder team at Harbor Church with a specific call to bi-vocational ministry. By day, he serves as a healthcare leader overseeing surgical services at the local hospital; by heart, he is a discipler committed to helping men know, love, and fear God. Through his work with Rooted in Reverence, JR addresses the urgent need for men to move past distractions and return to the authority of Christ in all of life. He is dedicated to cultivating God-fearing leaders who prioritize spiritual leadership in their marriages and communities. JR and his wife Sandi are raising their two children accompanied by their faithful dog, Murphy.
