Foster Care in Thurston County

Serving the modern day orphan

Every year, during the months of November and December, we turn our focused attention to the local and global needs around us by participating in what we call our "Season of Giving." The truth is that every month is a time to give and honestly, our aim year-round is to be aware and engaged in the local and global mission, but during this specific two-month span our collective minds and hearts unite together to engage these mission fields with focused intentionality.

For the third year in a row, we are teaming up with local foster care agencies to provide comfort bags. These bags (diaper bags, backpacks, suitcases - depending on age) are given to the foster child when they meet their new foster parent. The contents of the bag help both the parent feel equipped and the child feel loved as they are connected for the first time. Below, you will see the list of comfort bag options (via age) and the contents to provide for the bag you select. Please purchase your bag and its contents and drop it off in our Commons Space at Harbor Church and we will then distribute the bags to our foster care agencies.
